archive first, check later
A change I have made in my life - and one that has saved me a from a lot of stress and anxiety - is archiving clutter rather than attempting to organize it. If you are overwhelmed by information hoarding, such as having too many files or photos to manage, simply stash them all away and live as if they do not exist.
In digital environments, the affordances of an organized space can be artificially induced by moving the mess into a single archive folder. The benefit of this approach is reversibility; you can always retrieve a file if necessary. However, in my experience, most archived data is never needed again.
